Mermaid Release Notes v1.3.0.5

We’ve taken customer feedback on board and have made some exciting updates to Mermaid! Check them out below and if you’re interested in Mermaid please get in touch.

New Features

User-defined Percentile (P-values) in the results summary table.

Whilst Mermaid reports multiple default P-values in the results summary tables, users suggested they would find it beneficial to report bespoke values. As a result, we have added an optional column to the summary table where the user can set any statistically valid P-value they like.

More verbose reporting on simulation progress.

Users have requested more information on the status of their simulations over and above the ‘x of y runs complete’ we currently provide. Mermaid now reports not only the progress through the runs but also indicates how many runs have failed, run out of metocean data or hit a project or task cut off.

Bug Fixes

We’ve fixed a few small bugs in this release:

  • On some screen setups, modal dialog boxes would open in an inaccessible location. This has been fixed, modal dialogs now open in the centre of the screen.
  • Metocean statistics probability of exceedance chart export to PNG wasn’t using the user defined limits, this has now been fixed.
  • Importing metocean data from an Excel spreadsheet in knots was not respecting the units defined. This has been corrected so that import in knots or metres per seconds works as expected.
  • In some rare cases, simulations failed due to an error calculating storm events towards the end of the metocean data. This error was extremely rare, but has now been corrected none the less.
